Assessment & Capacity Mapping
6 Sigma is a training that helps organizations run at the highest capacity without error as possible. This allows for as little as error as possible making sure not to waste time or resources. Working at a high capacity is important because it makes you as efficient as possible, getting as much done as you can.
M&E Report shows the assessment of a project. Looking at what has been done and what could be improved upon. Running M&E is one of the most important things you can do for your organization. It helps make sure you are not wasting your time, money, or resources. It helps you make sure you are on track with your project and not going over budget or overtime.
Donor Demographics this is an analysis on the demographics of donors that typically donate to nonprofit organizations and why they donate. This looks at the types of people that donate from a large list of demographics and what motivates each type of donor to donate.
SWOT Analysis is an analysis of the Beehive Haiti. This gives a good idea of what is can be built upon. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your organization is important because it helps you know what you can improve on and where you can build.
Monitoring
Meeting Notes this is a great way to monitor what is currently happening in a project. It keeps track of a meeting in written form and can be sent to everyone involved to remind them what was discussed and what they should be doing before the next meeting.
M&E Report is an analysis of a project, looking at what is currently happening and what is working. This is a great way to help monitor a project. It helps you know where you are in your timeline of your project and if you are staying on budget. It helps you know what still needs to be done.
Seminar Certificate I completed a training on monitoring and evaluating. It went over all the stages of M&E and different parts that can be used for projects and organizations. It is important to use it whenever you can because it keeps things as effective as possible. Sometimes it can be hard to know where you need to be doing things in the timeline of a project, however this keeps the checklist moving and keeps you on budget.
I did an online training with some supervisors on various M&E tools and techniques and how they could benefit them. We looked at specific tools and how they can be applied to them specifically. It was a good way to expose them to monitoring and evaluating as well as help them see how they can strengthen their organization. I think these tools were especially important because they don't live in the country they work in, they spend a lot of time traveling back and forth and when that happens it can be easy for things to get lost or confused over time or in between trips back and forth.
Evaluation
The following are examples of evaluations that I have conducted. I have created some teaching materials on the topic as well as run some reports on various projects.
Appreciative Inquiry Report I conducted in order to hear the opinions and perspectives of the students and faculty of Malawi Adventist University first hand. In order to really get a full evaluation of a project or an organization it is important to get the perspectives of those benefiting from the projects or organization.
Advocacy Evaluation This is an evaluation paper of an advocacy campaign and the things that went well and could have been improved upon. There are a lot of different things that go into an advocacy campaign and being able to evaluation the different parts in important when wanting to set up your own advocacy.
Monitoring and Evaluation Manual - this is a manual that I created in order to help teach M&E to people that may not be using it right now but could benefit from it. It is a pretty easy to understand manual. I wanted it to be as user friendly as possible and I have used it in a variety of trainings.
Project Evaluation- this is an evaluation of a project that took place with The Beehive in Haiti. It is important to evaluate your projects after you finish them so you don't keep making the same mistakes over and over again. You want to be able to improve your next project not just do the same thing ever time.
Seminar Certificate is the certificate of a seminar that I took on monitoring and evaluation. Monitoring and Evaluation can be a complex thing and there are a lot of things that go into it. I took a few seminars that could help give another set of insight. There is always more you can learn from it.
Standards & Best Practices
Best practices/sustainability/trap paper This is a paper that looks at the best practices in development and creating sustainability. There are best practices to look at when trying to make a project sustainable. However, there are often traps that you can get stuck in when looking at sustainability, some things seem sustainable but are really not as sustainable as they seem. This is something that needs to be considered when looking at best practices, which is really the best practice for your situation.
The following are seminars that I completed on best practices.
