Business Enterprise

This was a training that was conducted at Malawi Adventist University with the student body in order to train them on student leadership and how to form a student club. We wanted them to be able to start their own little organizations that run independently of each other. This is good for the students to learn leadership skills and to start

The following are examples of business enterprise in various forms. Furthering an organization or strengthening one are all ways to grow business enterprise. There are many different kinds of documents and manuals that go into building a business enterprise and these are a few examples.

Development Entrepreneur Paper

Employee Handbook

Marketing Plan

Social Enterprise

We tried to create a variety of ways for students to come together and socialize as well as grow on a variety of topics such as faith, religion, or academics. It is important as a school to grow as a community and grow and a group of people for Jesus. This is something that needs to be intentionally fostered and grown.

This is a grant writing training with did with students at Malawi Adventist University in order to raise money to start their clubs. Creating clubs and groups on campus of people who have similar interests or skills is important. We tried to train students in a variety of skills that would help them in the long run. We wanted them to be able to write grants for their clubs and grow as a school and student body.

The following are grants that were written for two different organizations but both were written so that groups and communities could be formed and grown. One is so a wood shop school could be built, and the other is so that resources could be provided to hire women in Nepal.

Resource Acquisition

One of the things I did while at Malawi Adventist University is create a new website. I did my best to make sure that resources were available on the website for new, current, and future students as well as faculty and staff. It is important to be able to get information easily and they did not have a common place to get information about the school.

I worked with a variety of people in order

to gain information and resources to put

on the MAU website. I wanted to be able to

make the website as collaborative as

possible with different groups and

departments on campus. I wanted it to be

a place that everyone could go to to find

what they needed.

The school recently when to an online

system for attendance and registration.

This was something that they desperately

needed and will help them move forward

and improve as a school.

We had a lot of churches and

organization donate supplies

and resources to our project in

Haiti. Some of those things were

clothes that we gave to children

at VBS so they could have

something new and clean to

wear. This was a way for us to

partner with other churches and

organizations as well as collect

resources that the community

needed.

We did a lot of advertising in order to gain long term volunteers to serve on the property in Haiti. The thing they need the most is people who are willing to serve with the organization. One of the biggest thing that the organization needs is people to help serve and work in the different ministries they have.

Value Chain Mobilization

I did several trainings and volunteering opportunities for

students. We did what we could to have sign ups for

students to get involved. This is one thing that is part of

a value chain. Resources are important and humans can be

one of the biggest resources.

I had to talk with a variety of people to make sure we had a time and place to do trainings as well as to make sure we had resources and supplies for these trainings. It is important to do your planning before an event, in this case a training, and being able to gather the resources you need in order to make it run smoothly is part of a resource chain.

I had a variety of volunteers help with a variety of tasks. I had to coordinate people to help. It is important to utilize the volunteers that are willing to help your organization. Volunteers have different skills and resources that they bring to the table. They can be a great asset to your organization.

This is a seminar training that I completed on managing employees and volunteers. It is important to have a plan before you invite volunteers to your organization. Know what they will be doing and for how long and make sure you have all the needed supplies for their tasks and responsibilities. That way you get the most out of the time they spend with you.

Supply Chain & Logistic

Buying Yak Wool Material this is a video of Dayako Ghar buying yak wool and other materials for our sewing projects as the organization. It is important to be aware of where you materials and products come from. Getting the best for what you need it important and building good relationships with the people that you get it from is also important.

Nutrition DIP shows supplies that will be needed in order to complete and achieve this particular project. It is important to be able to think about what you need in order to complete your project or your goals. What resources will you need and how can you get them? This document helps with that.

I had students write descriptions of programs offered on campus and bring them by my office every week. I could then edit them and upload them to the website. This was a way for me to gain information about the programs on campus and a great way for students to practice their writing skills.

In Haiti, we have to pump water from the river in order to add to our tanks to take showers and have running water on the compound. We would also fill containers for the locals so they could have clean drinking water. This is one way we gather resources and a very important one at that.
